Suggestion: Can't kill naked players.

Detailed description: A player may not kill another player who is wearing no armor, regardless of whether the attacker is also unarmored.

If an unarmored player dies from natural causes while being chased by another player, this rule is not considered to have been broken, provided the death was not caused by the pursuing player, even if assisted (optional).

Reason(s): This would give new players, who have no gear, a better chance to progress instead of being instantly killed by someone with much stronger equipment.

It would also encourage more player interaction, such as trading and spontaneous encounters, since players would be less worried about being attacked on sight.

Example(s): Imagine John, a player with fully maxed-out netherite armor and tools, chasing Paul, who has just died after falling into lava while mining. John waits beside Paul's bed, where Paul respawns, and repeatedly kills him every time he respawns instead of destroying the bed or leaving. Since Paul has no armor or equipment, he has no realistic way to defend himself or escape other than quitting or teleporting to spawn (which I assume is against Rule #6 of 'In-Game Rules'). With a "Can't Kill Naked Players" rule, situations like this would be prevented. Paul would have the opportunity to recover, continue playing, and remain on the server instead of being forced into an endless death loop. That creates a better experience for new or disadvantaged players and helps with player retention.

Hey @ArjunR000

Thank you for your interest in creating a suggestion to improve the server. However, we have eventually decided to deny it.

We agree with the problem you're trying to solve, players shouldn't be put into situations they have little or no reasonable opportunity to recover or continue playing.

However, we don't velieve a "can't kill naked players" rule is the right solution. Whether a player is wearing armor doesn't necessarily reflect whether the fight is fair, and such a rule could be easily abused by players intentionally removing their armor before scouting, raiding, transporting valuable items, or escaping PvP.

The situation described in your example is already covered by our Illegal Trapping/Killing Methods rule. It prohibits using mechanics or situations that leave players with little or no reasonable opportunity to react or defend themselves, including repeatedly spawn killing players to prevent them from safely leaving a spawn location.

In order to prevent new players from getting killed and having no items on, we've added previously that, if you have less than 2 hours of playtime and you get killed within 2 minutes apart from death to death, you will receive the tools kit automatically, or you can reclaim it every 20 minutes using /kit.

Our goal is to prevent unfair or abusive gameplay, not to make certain players immute to PvP based on the armor they're wearing.

That said, we'll continue to monitor the player's feedback and make any adjustements needed to the rules if we find there are situations not adequately covered. You may post another suggestion if you find a way around this.
