Important Builder Application Information - Read Before Applying

Introduction


Welcome to the official Cyto Network Builder Application requirements. We’re always looking for talented, creative and dedicated builders who want to help shape and improve the visual experience of our network.

Becoming a builder on CytoNetwork is a position of trust and responsibility. Our builders play a key role in defining the atmosphere, quality, and uniqueness of our server. For this reason, we expect a high level of creativity, maturity, teamwork, and attention to detail.

This thread outlines all requirements, application guidelines, and important expectations.
Before applying, please read everything carefully. Failure to meet all requirements will result in an instant denial.



Requirements

• You must be 15 years old or older​

While building focuses more on creativity than moderation, maturity and responsibility are still essential. Maturity and professionalism are important qualities we look for in our staff. Applicants under 15 are generally not ready to handle feedback, deadlines, and collaborative projects.

• You must have solid building knowledge and builder tools experience

Applicants are expected to have a strong understanding of Minecraft building fundamentals. This includes proper use of scale and proportions, block palettes, depth and detailing, terrain shaping, and overall visual coherence. Additionally, you should have experience using common building tools such as WorldEdit, VoxelSniper, Axiom, or similar tools that improve building efficiency and quality. While advanced mastery is not strictly required, a basic to intermediate understanding of these tools is highly recommended. The ability to adapt your style and techniques to match existing builds or specific themes is essential.

• You must have a working microphone and access to Discord

Communication is extremely important for builders. All project discussions, feedback, and coordination take place on Discord. You are expected to be active and respectful, with a generally clean message history.

• You must be active on all platforms of the network

Builders are expected to be reasonably active and available when working on assigned projects. Inactivity without notice may result in removal from the build team.

• You must be able to work as part of a team

Most builds are collaborative. You must be able to follow instructions, accept constructive criticism, and work together with other builders and staff members to achieve a consistent style and high-quality results.

• You must provide a buildings portfolio

A portfolio is mandatory. This can include screenshots, videos, or world downloads of your previous builds. Applications without sufficient proof of building ability will be instantly denied.

• You must not be staff on any other server

We expect commitment to Cyto Network. Being an active builder on another server can interfere with your availability and focus.

Application Tips

Applying for a builder position means proving that you are skilled, creative, and reliable. Here are some important tips to increase your chances of success:

• Don't say you are a good builder, show and explain why.
• Describe your most developed building style while providing screenshots (terrain, structures, interiors, organics, etc).
• Provide context for your builds:
  • What was the goal of the build?
  • Did you work alone or in a team?
  • What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
  • Did you have a specific style planned? Did you plan the paletts in advance, or you manage in how did it turn out?
• Explain how you handle feedback and improve your work.
• Tell us why youi want to build for Cyto Network specifically.

Apart from that, we highly recommend:

• Be honest. Lying about your experience or stealing builds will result in an instant denial and may affect future applications.​
• Create a detailed and well-structured application. A clear, well-written application reflects maturity and professionalism. Avoid excessive colors or fonts, as they make applications look unprofessional.​
• Show consistency and quality. A few high-quality builds are better than many rushed ones.​
• Be confident, but not arrogant. Explain what makes you stand out from other applicants and what value you bring to the build team.​
• Maintain a clean history. A positive record on the server demonstrates that you respect and follow the rules as intended. A history filled with offences or punishments will lower your chances of being accepted into the team. However, this does not guarantee acceptance or denial on its own — it is simply one of the factors considered during the review process.​

Additional Information
​

All of the requirements MUST be met to be even considered to become apart of the Cyto Network Build Team. If you do not meet these specific requirements, your application will instantly be denied. Asking for other staff members or administration to view your application will get it instantly denied. All applications will be reviewed and processed by the server administration. Copying any builds, an application from websites/players will result in it getting instantly denied and affect your chances when re-applying in the future. You are able to submit an application two weeks after your application has been denied.
